Does anyone still care about the game coming up Saturday? I was upset that I would be on a plane when it occurred, but now I’m at peace with it.
I’m not clubbing tonight, Scott. I’m sitting at my desk and waiting until your copy comes in. Do work.
I will be writing a game story late tonight following the HP-Terrell game, so those fans who want the instant information can find it on the Park Cities People main page around midnight. Our talented photographer Jeremy Chesnutt will be contributing fine photos to go with my prose.
Kristiana - I expect you to read the story when you come in from clubbing late tonight.
it doesn’t get tooted. Or something like that.
Kristiana - I will expect you to be one of the one listening at 6:05 on 990 AM. That’s 6:05 p.m., on 990 AM. It’s expert commentary, I assure you.
And you don’t have to worry about me referring to myself in the third person. It was just a headline. Now if I begin referring to myself with only one name, then you can worry.
Nice. So two guys from editorial are clearly looking out for number one. What are we doing to promote ourselves, girls? Watching “Rock of Love” doesn’t count. There must be a morning show or radio gig out there that would let us showcase ourselves. Get your thinking caps on.
There’s some good old-fashioned shameless self-promotion, Scott. Bonus points for referring to yourself in third person.
We’ve got bigger fish to fry in the PCP newsroom. Our esteemed Preston Hollow reporter, Austin Kilgore, created a Wikipedia page for himself that is now being considered for deletion. Apparently the Wikipedia people frown on blatant self-promotion. This guy especially takes issue with Kilgore. I think we should host a duel.
I’m going to be on the radio again tonight, previewing the HP-Terrell match up for The Sports Fan 990 AM at 6:05. Stop in while you’re on the way to the ball game, or dinner, or whatever. 990 does a solid job previewing all the local high school football games from 6-7, and then comes back with a scoreboard show beginning at 10 p.m.
And, if you’re up that early, join me again for a segment at 8:25 a.m. Saturday morning when I help do a recap of all of Friday’s events. Same station - 990 AM - but at, yawn, 8:25 a.m. My interview, however, will not be a yawner.
Development issues and proposals for preservation have little old Midway Hollow all over the news, and it looks like ace reporter Austin Kilgore was there first. There’s a story about it in the Dallas Business Journal today, and T.V. stations have picked it up as well. In case you missed it, get in on the pre-Preservation scramble here. This guy is not too happy about it, maybe some of you can send advice his way.
But I think that photo really captures the essence of Lacey in all her Lacey-ness. [Update: She looks like she wants to make out with you and punch you at the same time.]
I like Merritt’s portraits better. Would you mind drawing a picture of Lacey for us, Merritt? The one Kristiana posted just freaks me out.
Wow, that picture was really big. Jason’s going to kill me.
I cannot wait. I bet they throw in a twist and bring her back on the show. Wouldn’t that rock your world?
OK, that was totally false advertising, but if you tune in to the season finale of Rock of Love this Sunday (9/8c), you have a good chance of seeing Dallas native Lacey’s insanity during flashbacks and, please dear God, maybe they’ll have a reunion show. I feel like we should be live-blogging it or something. The finale is called “The Rose and the Thorn.” Poetry.
If you’re in the mood for trunk shows, get yourself to Stanley Korshak this weekend. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow, check out items from Ralph Lauren (Black and Purple labels along with Made-to-Measure), Antique Jewel Box, Coomi, Liancarlo bridal, and Rozanska.
I want to go! But I’m saving up for next Saturday. I’ll be the one with a corn dog in each hand, an OU T-shirt, a really hoarse voice, and a huge smile (because the Sooners will be winning).
Another reason to hate Southlake.
And Facebook is good for lots of things, not just catching criminals.
If you’ve ever wanted to be onstage in an opera, but can’t sing or act, this is your lucky break. The Dallas Opera is holding a casting call for supernumeraries on Oct. 9. Full release on the jump. (more…)
Apparently the special events coordinator at Highland Park United Methodist has a pretty romantic husband — this story about his proposal at the state fair is cute, but the photo booth shots are the best part.
Slow clapping is always a good thing, so, you’re welcome.
Yes, the illustration was magnificent. USA Today could not have done better, even in full color, with a bar graph.
But, Merritt, I’m concerned that you have suffered much distress lately at PCBC. Keep the faith.
Merritt, I’m usually awful at figuring out maps, but yours, yours was a work of art. It made the situation so much clearer. Thank you.
This morning I had the most frustrating Parkie induced traffic jam in at least 3 days. I was pulling out of the north parking garage exit at Park Cities Baptist Church onto Villanova to travel west. But a big jerk dropping his kid off at preschool parked on the wrong side of the road making Villanova a one lane street. And it’s not like he didn’t know what he was doing, there were cars everywhere. He even had to wait for a few vehicles to pass so that he could jet across.
It’s hard to visualize so I drew a map.
Kristiana, that’s good, right? That you’re clapping, slowly? (I don’t always get “tone” in blogging or text messages.)
