Thanks for posting this on the blog. This is such a difficult issue and I am curious how it will all play out. I know it must have been embarrassing for this young lady to go to school today - but her mother insisted she go to school and “face the music”. If more parents were like her, our abuse rate among school children should plummet. It is important to note, that in the Dallas Morning News Metro section today, this young lady was featured as one of the 2007-08 Student Voices. This is an accomplished young lady who can take this tragedy and hopefully write about her experience and prevent others from her mistake. The issues she mentions in the introduction (substance abuse, bullying in schools) are real, and HP kids are facing them today. I lift her and her family up in prayer as they fight the intense social pressure to run or hide from this. I am proud of this family.
