More good academic news for Highland Park schools:
Highland Park ISD students achieved an average composite score of 25.2 on the 2006-07 ACT. The average state composite score rose to 20.5, while the national average rose to 21.2.
In HPISD, 263 students took the test, which is often used to gain admission to colleges and universities.
“Our students strive for excellence each and every day,” said HPISD Superintendent Dr. Cathy Bryce. “Their outstanding performance on the ACT is a strong testament to the learning that is occurring in our classrooms. I am proud of our students and I congratulate them, their parents and our teaching staff.”
