During my pursuit of the ultimate outdoor patio, I stumbled across a winner for the short list. Tristan Simon has hit another Henderson Avenue home run with his new Consilient Restaurants concept “down home cooking with uptown cocktails” at The Porch. This evening, friends and family joined Tristan, Nick Badovinus, Anne and Steve Stodghill as they unveiled the Stodg Burger. I overheard Nick describe this work-of-art burger to a guest as a “creation of excessive indulgence.” I would have to agree as it had several ingredients topped off with a fried egg on a foie buttered bun. It was oh-so-good…
The cocktails are created with top notch and top shelf flair. The house margarita was mixed with blood orange juice while the blackberry smash was just that — primarily smashed blackberries and whisky. There is almost a dozen signature cocktail creations to enjoy, so check them out (responsibly) when the doors open Thursday, May 10.Â
